    Ce document est un polycopié destiné aux étudiants de première année licence spécialité français/Arabe/Anglais. Il introduit les bases de la linguistique et son importance dans la traduction. Ce cours (Introduction à la linguistique) permet aux étudiants de : situer dans l’histoire les différentes étapes ayant marqué l’évolution de la linguistique. Définir correctement les différents concepts clés de la linguistique générale comme le signe linguistique, langage, langue et parole ainsi que les six fonctions du langage de la théorie de Roman Jakobson comme la fonction expressive, conative, phatique, métalinguistique, référentielle, et poétique. Enfin, il propose des méthodologies pour l’élaboration et l’adoption de terminologie scientifiques.
