dc.description.abstract | The present study is mainly concerned with teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards the use of social media to improve the students’ speaking skill. The study was conducted at MMUTO relying on Davis’ Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) focusing on two main concepts which are the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. A questionnaire was administered to fifty-seven (57) third year students in the Department of English at MMUTO, and an interview was conducted with five (05) teachers from the same department. In order to analyze the data, the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) was used for the quantitative data, and qualitative content analysis (QCA) was used in order to interpret the qualitative data from the questionnaires’ open-ended questions and the interviews. The results of the research show that teachers and students have a positive attitude toward using social media in developing the students’ speaking skill. | en |
