| dc.description.abstract | The present dissertation deals with the legendary Fantasy Trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien: “The Lord of the Rings”(1954-1955), one of most successful literary works of the 20th century. As a supporting theory, my dissertation relies on William Guy Carr’s “Pawns in the Game” and also “Satan, Prince of this World”. The aim of this work is to show the conspiracy within the novel and to understand the different assimilations between the characters, the sittings and the applied theories of William Guy Carr. Following the IMRAD method, my dissertation started with a presentation of the Fantasy as a literary genre. In Method and Materials, I explained the two conspiracy theories I applied with a long summary of each of the three tomes of Tolkien’s trilogy: “The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers” and “The Return of the King”. My discussion is divided into two chapters. Chapter I focuses on the theory of war in the novel, especially World War II, during the reign of Hitler and Mussolini over Nazi Germany and fascist Italy. Chapter II focuses on the Luciferian doctrine in The Lord of the Rings. It is about occultism, symbolism and the esoteric dark side of Tolkien’s trilogy. The major results of my research are the similarities between the antagonists in Tolkien’s trilogy and some historical figures of World War II. Moreover, the incarnation of Satan, Prince of Darkness, into the evil character Sauron, the lord of Mordor. There is also the influence of the ring of power on its owner, in the same way that Satan has mind control over the human beings on Earth. | en |
