This study aims at showing the impact of electronic dictionaries and applications on the process of translation and the way they could help or not the students to achieve their translation tasks. . The hypotheses are that electronic dictionaries may allow students to overcome their weaknesses and that applications like Google, Babylon and Reverso could be the most used by students in translating the technical texts . To check these hypotheses, a questionnaire is administered to a sample of students and another one to a sample of teachers. A group of master one students at the Department of Translation in Mouloud MAMMERI University of Tizi Ouzou has been submitted to a test of translation of different technical texts. The results in general show that students depend on mobile dictionaries and their use helps them to gain time and cover their weaknesses in translation activities.en
