| dc.description.abstract | The present study deals with the differences between Khaled Husseini’s novel The Kite Runner (2003) and Marc Forster’s adaptation of the same title (2007).Our main interest in this research paper is to explore the changes that occur when dealing with dramatization which means the shift from narrative to dramatic. We have borrowed Gerard Genette’s theory of transmodalisation explained in his work entitled “ Palimpsests (1982) Literature In The Second Degree”, to explore some characteristics of both types such as: the temporality of the story and the loss of textual means. Throughout this humble work, We have noticed that the adaptation of the Kite Runner the novel to the movie undergoes changes in terms of characters and themes and this is related to Gerard Genette’s theory of transmodalisation. | en |
