The translation of terms related to depression is considered one of the branches of scientific translation, and it is characterized by being one of the most difficult types of translation at all, as it is related to mental health. This research aims to show how difficult it is, to translate terms related to depression from English into Arabic language, and the translator’s inability, due to the lack of culture or knowledge necessary to use them to avoid making mistakes. In order to verify the validity of this hypothesis, we have translated part of the book “The mindful way through depression” . This is in order to shed light on these terms through the use of appropriate mechanisms, and the use of the translation methods of Vinay and Darbelnet, as well as analyzing and comparing them to the Arabic language. Through our study of this subject, it became clear to us that we can use many strategies in order to decode psychology terms in particular, and therefore the adoption of effective translation strategies will facilitate the translation process.en
