Abstract
This study, entitled psychological factors that contribute to effective revision for exams ,aims
to gain a deeper insight into the role of psychological factors in the revision process .It seeks to
assess their effectiveness and provide study revision strategies in relation to psychological factors
for Master2 students to enhance their exam performance .To achieve these objectives, the study
employed Self Determination Theory and Social Cognitive Theory. A mixed-method research
approach is used for data collection and analysis .Data was gathered through an online
questionnaire administered to (57)M2 students and an interview to (5) teachers in the Departement
of English at the University of Tizi-ouzou . Quantitative data from the questionnaire was analyzed
using the rule of three ,while qualitative Content Analysis was applied to open-ended interview
responses and questionnaires . The results show that students use psychological factors like selfregulation,
self-efficacy, motivation, and stress management in their revision for better exam
results. On the other hand ,teachers recommend a healthy lifestyle and effective planning for
successful studying.On the basis of our findings, it is concluded that psychological factors play a
significant role in the revision process.
