    Exploring the TAP/Translog method in the translation of texts on architectural art from Arabic into English Excerpts from قصبة مدينة الجزائر الجزء الأول as a case study

    The aim of our research paper is to present the most important difficulties that confront a translator when facing a technical text with historical and cultural aspects, and study the behaviour of the translator in order to overcome these problems. Our corpus consists in excerpts from a book describing the famous Casbah d’Alger, its cultural and historical architecture in Arabic language that we translated into English with a special focus on terms and special structures. To fulfil our objective of study we applied the Think Aloud Protocol/Translog method that has revealed successful results in having access to the black box of the translator and understanding the whole process of translation activity, thus producing a correct translation document
