    Antiviral vaccines textbook
(Université Mouloud Mammeri, 2026) Yezid, Hocine
Viruses are the smallest self-replicating organism in the nature, they replicates solely within the living cell of an organism. Viruses are a small acellular infectious agent, generally less than 250nm diameter. Viruses particles consist of small genetic segment of DNA or RNA packaged within a protein coat. In some cases these particles are membranes enveloped derived from plasma membrane or other cellular organelles. The purpose of this textbook is to provide a comprehensive overview of the different types of antiviral vaccine platforms, from standard live attenuated and inactivated vaccines to recombinant subunit, DNA and messenger RNA (m-RNA), and viral vector-based platforms, which led to enhanced vaccination effectiveness and improved production capabilities. Therefore, the present work highlight the vaccines production and purification methods, current approved and future viral vaccines, the advantages and limitations of the current viral vaccine strategies, the difficulties encountered in vaccine development, and how these vaccines can be improved for future use.

Tutorials in structural bioinformatics. Analyzing proteins using Molecular Graphics program : PyMOL
(Université Mouloud Mammeri, 2026) Yezid, Hocine
Biomolecules graphical visualization and analysis skills are critical in understanding key concepts in the biological sciences, such as structure-function relationships and molecular interactions. Various Bioinformatics programs allow a user to manipulate 3-D structures. Biomolecules modeling promotes practical learning and feels the gap between 2-D textbook images. This work will cover the basics of “PyMOL”, one of the most famous molecular visualization software available. PyMOL is a popular and open-source molecular visualization software with a user interface allowing analysis of molecular models and building high-quality images. The software is developed and maintained by Schrödinger Lab, that offers an open-source version available free of chargefor academic and education use. This program is downloadable for Windows, Linux and macOS from www.pymol.org. This guide isintended for master’s students in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology seeking to learn the basics of structural Bioinformatics analysis of proteins and 3-D structures manipulation using PyMOL molecular graphical Software. It is assumed that the reader already has some knowledge of structural Biology and some facility at using a computer.
