(+CD-Rom)The aim of our research paper is to present the most important difficulties that confront a translator when facing a technical text with historical and cultural aspects, and study the behaviour of the translator in order to overcome these problems. Our corpus consists in excerpts from a book describing the famous Casbah d’Alger, its cultural and historical architecture in Arabic language that we translated into English with a special focus on terms and special structures.
