Abstract
ملخص:
تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إلقاء الضوء على جزء مهم من بلاد المغرب القديم خلال الحقبة الرومانية، والمتمثل في أبرز المدن التي شيدت في مقاطعة موريطانيا القيصرية، مستندة إلى مصادر أدبية ومادية. وعلى الرغم من أن المصادر الأدبية وفرت بعض المعطيات الهامة عن هذه المدن، فإن البحوث الأثرية التي أجريت في المنطقة على العصور لم تتناولها كافة، بل ركزت على مناطق محدودة، مما أدى إلى محدودية شمولية البحث.
بالإضافة إلى ذلك، توجد صعوبات في التفسيروالتحليل، إذ إن الدراسات التاريخية القديمة غالبا ما أولت النصوص الأدبية الأهمية الكبرى على حساب المعلومات الميدانية الأثرية. ويبقى الباحث المختص مطالبا بتكوين تصورات وافتراضات حول أماكن بعض المدن استنادا إلى موقعها، ووضعها الحضاري، والأثارالباقية منها. وإن الإستعانة بمصادر متنوعة ضرورية أجل التوصل إلى نتائج متكاملة رغم أنها ستمكننا ولو نسبيا من معرفة خصائص تلك المدن من نواحي عدة.

Abstract:
This study aims to shed light on an important part of Ancient Maghreb during the Roman period, focusing on the most prominent cities built in the province of Mauretania Caesariensis. The research is based on both literary and material sources. Although literary sources have provided some valuable information about these cities, archaeological studies conducted in the region over time have not covered all of them; instead, they focused on specific areas, which limited the comprehensiveness of the research.
Moreover, difficulties in interpretation and analysis persist, as ancient historical studies often gave greater importance to literary texts at the expense of archaeological field data. Thus, the specialized researcher remains required to form hypotheses and conceptions about the location, cultural status, and surviving remains of certain cities. The use of diverse sources is therefore essential to reach integrated results, even if only partially, in order to understand the various characteristics of these cities.
